Effortless and slouchy chambray buttondown dress featuring extreme oversized pockets. Perfect with a pair of sneaks, gladiators or tall boots.
I love this shirt, the material is really comfortable and soft. The fit runs extremely large. I just ordered a small when i usually wear a large. Great ego booster. Can be worn casual or also with nice black pants, works both ways. I will wear this shirt often.
Huger than huge
I received this item completely wrinkled just as other reviewers mentioned which was off-putting to say the least. I was on the fence about keeping it. Certainly it has potential to be chic, but you need to be of a certain build to wear it. I would not buy this if I were any shorter (I'm 5'7) or any slimmer ( I wear xs/s in most FP shirts). Mind that I never intended to wear this as a dress anyway because at my height it would be too short. I have since washed and dried on the hottest cycle to shrink the shirt to a manageable size so it doesn't look like three people can fit into my shirt. It is starting to grow on me. The pockets are the selling point for sure.
I am not disappointed in the final outcome with this piece but when it arrived it was stuffed in the bag and terribly wrinkled which can be easily remedied but it also had the most awful soured smell! The only reason I gave it a second chance is because I got it for half off in the flash sale and I could see possibilities when it was laundered and pressed so I tossed it in the washer but really?? The smell was really BAD. It is SUPER over-sized so order way way down. I got the XS and it's still really boxy and big but that's the look of this piece. It laundered nicely and looks (and smells) great now. Glad I kept it.
huge or short
i really wanted this to work. i got the mystic blue and i love the color. i size down 2 sizes and it's still very roomy. the issue i have is that i intended to wear this as a dress, and it was too short. it could be because i sized down, but otherwise it'd be too huge. i'm 5'3" and it's just barely covering my bum, and i can't lift my arms without lifting the entire dress up. so this really isn't a dress. i considered keeping it as a shirt, but it just looks quite boxy. the material is soft but still have some structure so it doesn't just drape down. the pockets are way more slouchy that shown.
I went to the brick and mortar store in WTP in Chicago because I was not sure of my size; the sales girl told me to order a size small (which surprised me as I usually order an Xl in most stores, if not a 1X), but, she was absolutely right - and when I received this great shirt, the fit was perfect and the style is just what I was looking for. Thinking of getting the other dark navy one you have shown on the same site in the near future. thanx for having sizes that fit us ladies who are a bit out of shape in the tummy area.
Wrinkled mess, but great shirt!
I had the same experience the reviewer from 7.20.2015 reported. Shirt arrived terribly wrinkled up in a flimsy plastic bag, one sleeve rolled, and no price tag, but the extra button was attached. That said, after I washed the shirt to get the wrinkles out, I love it! It runs very large, but that's part of the look. I came back to order one in the other color. If you're thinking of wearing this shirt unbuttoned, be sure to order 1-2 sizes down, otherwise there'd be too much fabric.
This is the first time I was disappointed with a purchase from Free People. The picture is deceiving. The item looks very short, however, the item that arrived at my home was much longer. Additionally, it was packaged in a small plastic bag, sleeves rolled up, terribly creased and missing a price tag. It looked as though it was worn by staff in the store. I had to send it to the dry cleaner.
Hi BlueDenim, We're sorry to hear about this. Someone from our team will be in touch. - Free People
You get what you pay for…this jacket is made nicely, just the right weight for fall or layering in winter, it's roomy enough to wear a sweater under it, great addition to my coat and jacket collection. I live in the San Francisco area so we get cold and fog, I'm sure I will get lots of fun wearing out it…can never go wrong with “denim” it's always in fashion.
