Not at all like the picture
I originally bought this as a summer wedding dress. I'm 5'7/150 lbs and first ordered a medium. It was huge to say the least, and absolutely not appropriate for a wedding, even if tailored. The side boob action was ridiculous. So I exchanged it for a small, and when it came it was still just as big. There is SO much fabric in all the wrong places. I really don't know what body type this dress was made for but all I can say is that it fits nothing like the picture shows. If I were to wear this anywhere it would be to the pool or the beach, and $300 is a little much for a barely-there cover up.
What a disappointment...
Was really looking forward to feeling like a goddess in this at my mother's 50th, but I don't see that happening! First off, if I were to keep this dress (which I most definitely will not), a lot of fabric would have to be sacrificed at the tailor. The dress is HUGE. I have a hard time understanding how the model in the photo is wearing a small considering that she is 5'8. For reference, I am of similar body-type to her, just 5'3" (50kg/110lbs). I expected to trim the hem, but the rest of the dress fits like a bag, not nicely fitted like in the photo. That was not the worst of it. The sizing issue is entirely minuscule in comparison to the following: The dress arrived in a COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE state. Two large, dark grey stains on the front, make-up stains on the inner edge of the bust-line, and the bottom hem was tattered and dirty....as if someone had worn to an event and returned it or something... This being my first Free People online order, I can't say anything other than that I am deeply disappointed. I really hope FP ups their standard and checks orders more thoroughly in the future. I'd like to end this on a positive note, however. The dress is beautifully crafted in the softest and most comfortable cotton (100%). The lace is made in France, a lovely detail. Wish I could have had the chance to wear it! I'm sure it would have turned a lot of heads.
We're so sorry to hear that the dress arrived in this condition. Our team will be in touch to help!
