Cute, a little tight in calves though!
These are super cute, I am usually a size 40, but there was only a size 41, so I figured I'd give these babies a try. REALLY love the details and they look amazing. My only complain is they are tight in the calves and I have very athletic ones. I have my boyfriend zip up the boots for me as me trying to zip them up cause my muscles to flex and makes it impossible to zip up! The other reviewer may have gotten a defective pair, I'd give these a try... you may really fall in love! Oh, and I can only wear these with or without tights. Putting them over a pair of jeans would be a nightmare! But for the price, I don't mind!
Bought these on sale and they are really lovely. The shaft of the boot is slightly curved towards the top and fits very well. I have regular calves, I work out so a little defined, and they fit beautifully. They come up a little higher on me than the model so she must have long legs. They have a Victorian feel with the stitching detail on the front foot area and the nails on the soles show the craftsmanship. The foot area is a little stiff but it's leather and already it's softening up. They look a little narrow in the foot in the picture but I wear an 8 reg in boots and the 38 fit perfectly. I love them! They are the perfect height for dresses and give leggings an equestrian feel. A great pair of boots for the sale price.
oy to the vey
I have bought quite a few pairs of beautiful, bouncing boots off of Free Peeps. I figured, hey, perhaps their own line of shoes will be of superb quality! I was so wrong. I ran into this problem with the Talisman Peep Toe Wedges. They were awful. Had to return. Figured I would give Free People one more shot. These boots looked cool. Howevs, they felt stiff and the leather was less than impressive. Boo. I tried them on and this is where the fresh ridiculousness comes into play. I could not get the things zipped. The right one went on without a thought, the left one took 10 minutes of yanking and my fingers are still sore. I have never in my life had a problem with boots not fitting my legs. I am a 6'0 tall amazon woman weighing at about 140, roughly 36-25-37. So, not beanpole status, but I should never NOT fit into a pair of zip up boots. I wear a 4/6 dress size. I am well within the bounds of average. There has got to be some kind of malfunction with these puppies. Also, the dye turned my hands brown. RETURNED. Don't buy these unless you have itty bitty legs sans calf muscle.
