Careful of your size
I'm not sure I bought these in the right size. I'm a 7-7.5, and I usually like my leather shoes a little tighter initially so they'll be comfy when they stretch out, so I ordered these ones in the 37 EUR. Getting them on now, though, I can feel they're tighter than I wanted. My toes and heels are definitely scrunched. But the 38s are sold out and I'm not willing to send these back, so I'm just going to putter around in them in my apartment until the leather softens, and hopefully they'll get more comfortable. As for the rest of them: the leather is much thicker than I was expecting, which is nice, and it's got a good marble-y look to it (which, oddly, stops kind of abruptly on the toe). Much of the shafts aren't lined, and I'm afraid these might start to slouch a bit with wear, but hopefully not too soon or too much. Unlike some of the other FP shoes, the soles are rubber, and the heels are just covered with little strips of leather (more visible on the brown pair than the black); unfortunately when my pair arrived, some of the leather pieces were already starting to bend back, so I'm not too hopeful about them staying on forever without additional glue (minus one star). Otherwise, though, the boots are pretty gorgeous; they're a super flattering style, and the kind of thing I'll reach for just about every day. (Who doesn't need a pair of black booties all the time?)
These are my new favorite booties! They look beautiful and are super comfortable! I wore them for a wedding this past weekend, and after six plus hours of standing and dancing I would have never known that I had been wearing heels. If you are a half-size and plan to wear socks or tights, I would suggest sizing up. I am in between an 8-8.5 and went with the 38, but I wish I would have gone with the 39.
