Style: 29945102 Colour:
Trapeze cut tee made in a super soft cotton. Ribbed neckline and raw edging. Side vents and a Hi-Lo hem. **Please Note: Due to the special technique used, the wash on each shirt may vary slightly.
I own the white color and love it so I decided to order the black color as well but when I received it in the mail it looks absolutely nothing like the advertised photo online :( there is no burn out effect and and simply an ugly faded black color. The quality was extremely poor and very inconsistent. It felt really thin and was also way shorter than my other one even though it was SUPPOSED to be the same size! For $68 this is definitely NOT worth it at all. Do not buy the black color because you will not be happy with the sizing, quality, and color, as it is nothing like the photo.
My favorite tee ever, until
I live and love my white melrose T , compliments are almost annoying. I wash in gentle cycle and hang to dry... I ordered the black, not the same shirt still all! So sad!!! I wish I returned it... The new melrose is a boring 3/4 sleeve faded shirt, short, no swing at all!!!!
I have the old and new styles of this top and love them both...The half sleeves are perfect for hiding my upper arm tattoo on the job and the loose fit works great with my leggings..My only complaint would be the colors are not always what they represent from the web pics...Great tee though, highly recommend.
nothing like the picture
I am extremely disappointed in this product. I got the black one and it is nothing like the picture. It doesn't have the vintage look, it's just a plain black shirt. Definitely not worth $68. Will be returning.
Cute but the cut has changed
I have several of these tee shirts from last year. I was excited when I saw the new colors but they are cut a lot smaller than the origionals. I went from an extra small to a medium. I am 5'4'; 125 lbs and last year's xs fit me pertectly. It doesn't flow the same way as the origional.
I ordered this top in purple because I loved it in forest, storm blue and navy. The purple is not the same style/cut. It is about 4" shorter. If you look closely in the photos you can see that some of the colors (i.e. purple) have a seam in the back. When you charge $68- for a t-shirt, there should be some quality control and consistency. Makes me hesitant to order again from FP.
Not what they used to be
I purchased several of these shirts about a year ago and love them. The fit, quality, style was fabulous. Then, when I saw the chartreuse color on the website, I had to have it. When it arrived, I was so disappointed. It had a big hole in the front and I had to exchange it for another one. The fit of this tee is much different than the original. Tighter arms, shorter length and worst of all is that awful seam running down the back that the originals didn't have. The older ones were made in the good old USA, but the new ones are made in Vietnam. If you are going to charge $68 for a tee shirt, please step up the quality control.
Not What It Used to Be
The Melrose swing tees I bought last year are among my favorite spring/fall tops, but unfortunately FP in its infinite wisdom decided to change the design. I was very excited this spring when I saw that the Melrose was available in all these pretty new colors, so I ordered four of them online. I was so disappointed! This year the Melrose tee is at least 2 inches shorter than it was last year. You wouldn't think that would make a big difference, but it really does. Whereas the tees from last year drape in a very flattering way, this year's tees drape heavily over the hips, making anyone who is not a 6-feet-tall stick insect look chubby, even fat! I sent all the new tees back. Just another example of how much FP has gone down in quality these last 12 months.
Inconsistent quality control
I love this top! Especially the Burnt Coral one I received that had a cloth label sewn in. Medium weight fabric with intense color just like the one shown in the photo. The other 5 (yes, 5, I do love the way they fit and flatter) are far poorer quality--thin fabric and inconsistent faded color makes them look like they're ready for the rag bag in comparison to the beautiful vibrant Burnt Coral. BTW the poor quality ones have a stamped on Free People label. Perhaps 2 different manufacturers? I hope Free People will step up the quality control.
