Goddess Dress with a Trick
This dress is amazing. I love it. Its beautiful. Fabric is heavy, great for Spring and Fall. I got a size 6, my normal size and it fit everywhere but just couldn't close the last inch of the zipper! I then ordered the size 8 and it was huge and long and still couldn't zip up all the way. So, I took it to my taylor and added one inch of fabric at the zipper and now it fits perfectly. It really is an awesome dress just the waistband is not right with the zipper. I suggest trying it on. Good for narrow figure, and it is off white not white white like it looks on line. The print design on it is beige. Goes well with brown boots!
Where do I start? Not what I expected
I was so disappointed. I loved this dress so much before I saw it in person. I expected this dress to be a flowy, soft, comfortable and easy to wear material. Instead, it was a stiffer, scratchy, almost grainy/spongey textured (like someone else said), extremely wrinkled fabric and odd construction. I ordered the neutral/white and the color is much more beigey cream than ivory or white in person and the pattern is definitely brown, not grey or black like it seems in photos. I ordered my usual size 2. This dress was an over-whelming, longer than midi-shorter, but than maxi-length that just didn't work on me no matter what height shoes I tried. For reference I'm 5'6
Geisha Girl meets Boho Girl Dress
Really well made dress. Material is a bit more substantial in comparison to most free people dresses meaning no need for a slip or it being see-through! I'm 5.6 and 125 lbs and ordered the size 4. I'm usually an XS-S in Free People clothing depending on what look I'm trying to achieve. Its quite long comes up mid-calf on me and the sleeves are very flowy with a traditional kimono vibe. I got this dress in the denim colour, I wouldn't describe the colour as denim at all though more like a washed out blue. Overall super pleased with this purchase and plan on rocking it at Coachella this weekend!
love is an understatement.
free people dresses never ever fail me.. but ESPECIALLY this one. it's so beautiful I can't even find words! the first thing that drew me to this dress was the unique shape of it - it hugs your waist so it doesn't just look like you're wearing a bag, but the rest of it is flowy and beautiful. even though it's a rather loose-looking dress, it's still VERY flattering/slimming because of the tighter waist. the detail on it is gorgeous, I bought it in the ivory color and the little dots are brown which I love. I saw the blue color in store as well, it's also beautiful but the white I think is more summery looking which is why I bought the white :) the material is also amazing, it definitely has some nice weight to it which makes it hang off of you just right, but at the same time it's nice and light, flowy and breezy - perfect for summer! I'll wear this dress a lot, I have a ton of FP dress but I think this has to be one of my favs :) sooo worth it!!
Beautiful but scratchy
Height: 5'7" (171 cm) -- Measurements: 32-22-32 (81-55-81). Inverted triangle body shape. Size 0, pearl color. This dress is gorgeous, but the material is very scratchy and heavy feeling. The pearl color is more ivory than white.
Nice style for the right body shape
I am a UK 14 US 10/12 FP M/L and sometimes S depending on the style. I ordered 10 and 12 to try but found even the 12 too tight around the high-waist/bodice/rib cage area for comfort, and this also made the skirt flare out in too exaggerated a way over my hips, which just doesn't suit my body shape. The tight bodice thing seems to happen quite often in the numerically-sized dresses on FP, and more so than with the XS to L sizing. Otherwise I think it's a really nice style if you have the right body shape, perhaps a little less of an hourglass than me, and I liked that the fabric was more substantial than the thinner rayon more often encountered on FP. I have nothing against the thinner fabric, I just think this more substantial fabric gives a better structure and probably crease-resistance to this dress. It probably makes it feel a little more formal, so it depends if that's what you're after. I tried the cream/Ivory colour and I thought it was very pretty. A great dress if it works for you.
More beautiful in picture
I received the blue version of this dress in the mail today, and while the size 4 fit me perfectly at 5'8 and 122, the shape just swallowed my slim build up. The blue color is much more drab/desaturated in person as well, and the garment actually smelled really bad like must and mothballs. It's going back to the local brick and mortar in DC, but maybe if they have the white version there I'll try it on. Odds are it will be less stinky, less wrinkly so maybe hang better, and less overwhelming color-wise!
