Seamed flares with button detailing on the ankle. Five-pocket styling, zip fly, and button closure.
i'm 5.4, 33, 26, 33, 112 lbs. got the 25 and they were snug - mine have little give so they don't stretch out by the end of the day. and they make me look much taller! length is good, too. can wear 3 or 3.5" heels and they're perfect. i know FP clothes are all over the map re; sizing, stretch, etc., so every pair could be different!! unfortunate. however, i love these, they fit great, don't lose their shape and the buttons on the sides add a really nice touch.
Love these jeans. The style and fit are so amazing. Perfect length and skinny in the legs. The waist is a couple inches below belly button and the waist band is a bit tight. I read some of the reviews and so ordered my size. They fit like a dream. I coul've ordered up to have a looser waist but think they'll be fine as long as I don't put on weight. The detail is amazing at the flare and I like they don't have over embelishment on the back pockets. These just might become my ATF jeans.
Hit or miss - different colors are different sizes
so I ordered these in two colors and it is complete hit or miss as the sizing varies drastically. They are of course wayyyyy long. So if you are short like me you will def need to hem them. I got one pair in my size that fit beautifully (aside from length of course) and one pair that was ridiculously small. So as I ay it is completely hit or miss.
Not so Skinny
These pants are a dream and fit so well! They do run larger than the norm so I would recommend sizing down 1 size. I purchased these in a size 27 and they stretched out quite a bit after wearing them 2 times. The measurements for the 27 were 32" Waist, and 38" hips.
A flare with flair
I have to admit I was happy to see the super flare going by the wayside. But, these are fab.I bought them in sequoia and the color is more like a putty than grey...very nice color addition to my jean collection. The stitching and button detail make them cool and stylish. When I wear them I want to strut. I'm 5'6", 110lbs and the length on me is exactly as shown...great for heals but not so long I can't wear them with sandals. The 24 fits great with a few caveats: the butt and hip area are slightly loose but the waist is slightly tight and completely unforgiving. The stitching around the knee is also tight and unforgiving. But, overall these jeans are a KO.
I cried...tears of joy.
I struggle with finding a good fitting pair of jeans and let me tell you, these jeans are a PERFECT fitting pair of jeans for my body. I have very long legs in comparison to my waist measurement and nearly no hips. These jeans fit like a denim glove, hugging all the right places and actually accentuating the little curves that I have. They are my favorite flares as they hug my legs right down to below the kneecap and then fall down to their length. I also appreciate the material as it is not a flimsy denim. It's a nice, structured denim that is both durable and comfortable. I would say that the denim is not as stiff as the pictures suggest, which I found to be quite nice. They're casual and can surly pass as dressy depending on the wash. Oh, and I LOVE the hardware on these babies! The only thing I found to be awkward were the front pockets; they are a bit loose, but not a problem and definitely not a sacrifice for style or comfort.
Some of the best fitting jeans ever
I got these in the Crate blue, and saw the Sequoia...could not find my size so ordered them online, and they are awesome. More like a stone taupe-grey in color (not white). They are snug thru the lower thigh, knee and upper calf. Very flattering cut. Length was perfect for me with a 1-3" heel. I am 5'7" and weigh 130, got a size 27...fits perfect. The 26 was just way too snug (in the store). If it helps, I am a true size 4 in AE. I would say these are mid-rise.
I'm used to ordering jeans from Free People and from other places that are a size 28 and they usually fit somewhere between perfect and a little loose. I ordered these in a 28 and I couldn't even get them buttoned! Very strange...
perfect illustration of what i love and don't love
I tried these pants on in black in a store and LOVED them. I tried on a 30 and they fit perfectly. Length was great for me and finding jeans long enough is usually a problem for me. I bought them and wore them the next day. I got a lot of compliments on them, so many that I ordered 2 more pairs in two other colors also in 30. I tried them on when they arrived. Where the black ones fit me like they were designed for me, the next pair I tried on was much looser than my original pair. The last pair I tried on were so incredibly tight I literally could not get them zipped up. And this is coming from a veteran of the 80's club scene where it was normal to have to lay flat on the floor to get your pants zipped, and then it was only accomplished by inserting an opened wire clothes hanger through the hole in the zipper pull and pulling that zipper up with both hands. So where are we? Oh yeah....one pair was too big, one pair was too small and one pair was just right. I felt like Goldilocks, except I started with the one that was just right and then experienced the ones that weren't. I called FP and explained the problem. The guy on the phone was very nice and recommended I send back the too small ones and exchange for a larger size because the sizing should be consistent within the color. Ok, I did that and am awaiting the replacement 31s. The ones that ran large, well a couple of washes and spins in the dryer on high should fix. I just find the inconsistent sizing at free people so incredibly frustrating. I literally have every size they make hanging in my closet. I have FP skirts and tops ranging from small to large and they all fit me. I just bought a skirt in an 8 and now I am exchanging 30 jeans for 31. ok, different manufacturers I can maybe understand...but 3 pairs of the same jean and they all fit differently? I know an exchange won't cost me anything jpostage wise, but it's so frustrating to have to stand my behind in line at the post office where they do not move with any sense of urgency to get my return receipt. Now I'm waiting for my exchange to be processed and the replacement pair to arrive. free people I adore you, but can you please listen to all the feedback you are getting on sizing inconsistency--not just about this item but about your entire line as a whole and please do something about this? It can be your new year resolution. I had to remove a star due to the sizing inconsistencies.
Sequoia Running a Full Size Too Big
I recently experienced a rapid weight gain that had me desperately ordering 3 new pairs of pant from Free People. I had been wearing a size 27 my entire adult life until recently so, I wasn't sure what size to order. I ended up selecting a 28. I tried on the other pants in my package first: willow seamed flare and zip back ankle skinny. Both of them in size 28, were tight. I actually couldn't bend my leg in the willow. So, back into the bag those went. Lastly, I tried on these and to my surprise the size 28 was fitting me like a "loose" skinny fit through the hip, seat, and thigh. I actually need a belt. The material is very light and very stretchy. These pants definitely fit like a 29 (which is what I should've ordered based on my new hip measurement these days). These pants were the only pair I could keep due to them running a full size too large. They are really cute, extremely comfortable, just big. I also wanted to note that another reviewer commented on the front pockets bubbling out, they are doing this slightly on my pair as well. Because this material is so stretchy and light it is getting stretched out during the stitching process/manufacturing. If the problem were worse on my pair, I would've returned them.
