Not for summer colors
I needed a dress to attend some summer weddings in. This dress is beautifully cut and the style is very flattering, but the colors do not say summer. It would be a perfect dress for fall. Even my husband who is not fashion oriented at all.... said,
Gorgeous yet not quite perfect.....
Such a stunning dress. Love the art nouveau/deco fabric, the way it hangs, moves. BUT it can't decide whether it wants to be an empire or tie around the waist, so it ties around the ribs, which doesn't feel great. It runs large, so I got a small and that's perfect for my chest. Length is great too. I'm keeping it as it's oh, so beautiful, but really wish FP would keep an eye on sizing. Nothing is consistent at this store and I'm a solid M.
Beautiful flow and material
This dress is totally stunning and is definitely worth its price in material. It's heavy and flowy and the slate combo is just as beautifully colored as it is online. I'm ~110lbs and XS fits nicely, although the sash will allow you for some wiggle roo. It's totally worth 5 stars, but unfortunately it is MUCH longer than it seems when you're 5'2" and may look a little awkward if you're a fellow shorty!
A Nice Addition
This dress is a really nice addition to the boho inclined wardrobe. It's true to size and comfortable. Now, depending on your waist size, it could be a little snug if you have to wrap it tighter to get the desired look. I wore this dress to Thanksgiving, where I stuffed my face, and realized wearing a wrap dress may or may not have been the best decision lol. But darn if I wasn't the best dressed there ;) Anyway, I'm giving this dress 4 out of 5 stars because the "black combo" color is a bit misleading. As shown on the model, it's a little darker- more of a navy color. IRL, the dress is more faded than that and has less contrast than the images online suggest. For reference, I'm 5'9" , about 140 lbs, and a 34C and the Medium fits well. Though, this dress will inherently look more sleek on smaller chested folks. My C's fill out the top and cause me to have to cinch the tie a little tighter so I don't pop out. Overall, a pretty dress.
This is one of the first free people wrap dresses that is true to size. I have three others that need to pinned across the chest, but this one fits perfectly. I love the flutter sleeves, the charcoal color, and the fabric. I pair it will leather or suede booties and some dainty gold jewelry and I am good to go! I plan to wear it for Thanksgiving.
Beautiful All-Seasons Dress
Bought both colors with the intention of returning one, but keeping both. Black is a charcoal, and perfect for transitional fall - looks great with boots and a leather jacket. Blue is lighter than the photo, the last photo is closer to the true blue it is. And will be perfect for spring. I plan on wearing this on an upcoming beach holiday. I'm 5'0 (very petite) and the XS fits slightly loose up top and is the perfect floor length maxi. While I like the look on the model, it being a maxi makes it a bit more elevated. Excited to wear both.
Love this dress. The fabric has a really nice drape and a nice texture -- feels and looks very high quality. Moves really nicely when you walk, flattering and makes you feel great too. I bought the black combo and love the colors/pattern (note the base color isn't a true black, more like a dark charcoal). The length of the dress is a little awkward on me (5' 6", 115 lbs), not quite a maxi but hits weirdly low on the calf so I'm considering getting it hemmed to a midi length. Worth it for such a unique, elegant dress.
