Vintage inspired leather moto jacket with zipper accents on the cuffs and sides. Rugged on the outside and a feminine crochet lace lining.
Nice, but could be better
I'd wanted a pink leather jacket for years, so when this went on sale during the holiday promotion, I ordered it. I am 5'7", 125 lbs, and usually wear a 4 in most clothing. I ordered a size 4 and it was just too tight across the back and shoulders. Returned it for a size 6 and it fits a bit better. The arms are SO SMALL though, and I say this as someone with scrawny arms. You basically will not be able to layer this with anything with long sleeves without losing mobility. And the crochet lining, while lovely, will definitely snag, so it's really not very practical. The collar also makes the jacket a little tricky to wear. You can't really fold the collar and upper parts down or back gracefully--note that the photos only show it fully open or fully zipped. I do love the color though, a greyed lilac pink. So I'll be keeping it, but mostly just because the color is lovely.
Classic and classy
I love this jacket and I know I will have it for years. I am 5'5, 105 lbs and I got the 2. I prob could have fit into zero but this allows sweaters. It is not fitted in waist like the vegan moto jacket that I have and adore. It has an old school rocket vibe. The black is washed looking and has character. It is supple and feels very luxurious. I got it 1/2 off for the cyber monday sale. It is very warm. It is warmer than the vegan jacket for sure. I am very happy with it. It is a classy jacket that gives a polished look.
Disappointed in color and fit
I fell in love with the vintage ballet color (what I thought was a washed out gray with just a tinge of pink) as soon as I saw it online, so when I heard that someone had purchased it for me as a gift, I was bursting with anticipation. When I received the jacket, that anticipation turned to disappointment because the color is completely different. I would say the true color of "vintage ballet" is actually very saturated lilac, which if you like purple then maybe this will work for you. Also, like a lot of the other freepeople jackets, it runs very small in the arms and anyone that isn't flat chested is going to have a hard time zipping this one up.
Great quality leather jacket!
I really love this jacket! I got it in black and the color looks just like the photos. The leather is great quality. It is super soft lamb-skin. The lining is a cute, black lace, except for in the sleeves to prevent snagging. The jacket is nice and heavy. Also, the sizing was true to size for me. The sleeves may be a bit too long if you normally get petite sizing. I recommend purchasing this jacket!
Perfect in every way
I can't say enough about this great jacket! Its super chic and looks vintage with a twist of modern flare and its totally badass. The leather is consistent, smooth, and thick, its not cheap leather at all! The lace inside is beautiful and adds so much more character to the jacket. Im usually a size 6, but ordered an 8 and Im so glad I did because it runs a tad small. The 8 is roomy on me, but not gigantic, its just perfect for laying! I was a little concerned when I first tried mine on because it was stiff (its 100% leather though, so of course it would be), but only after a few hours of wearing it, it loosened up and is super comfortable now. Id say its completely worth the splurge. xoxo
This review is for the vintage ballet color. The color of the jacket in person is what I would go as far as to call drastically different than what is pictured. This may be picky but for the price I think its worth being aware of. The picture shows it as a very light greyish pink and in person it is much more pastel and purpleish, like a lilac color. When I first put on the jacket I felt that the leather looked a little stiff and not as buttery and expensive as this color looked in the picture but now that I am wearing it, it is softening up and looking very nice. As long as you like the color coming out differently it is a very nice jacket. Stitch detailing is beautiful and the lace inside is gorgeous. It has zipper panels at the wrists and both sides for additional wiggle room as needed and I don't know anyone else with anything like it.
It just arrived. I tried it on immediately and couldn't get to the computer fast enough to tell you all what a great jacket this one is! The leather is beautiful, soft, medium weight and smooth. The hide is consistent throughout the jacket's design. Just love it. I ordered the black and it's a very dark slate grayish black. Love the color!!!! I'm 5'3" about 125 lbs. and the 4 fits perfectly. I wear a Small in most FB clothing. I bought this jacket on sale during the Black Friday special offer..... I'm so glad and encourage anyone who is trying to make the decision to order for themselves or as a xmas gift to do it! Happy Holidays, and Thank You FP for a great leather jacket!
I am very petite, 4'11, 98 lbs. 32-22-33 and finding clothes to fit is an exercise in frustration. I ordered the black in size 2. Decided to order size 0, holding on to the size 2 for comparison. So glad I did! The 0 fits perfect! The sleeves on the 2 were just too long. The jacket is even more beautiful in person! Well made, stylish, yet will stand the test of time. The only drawback is the lining. Who puts lace inside a jacket?! You cannot have any jewelry on your wrists for fear of snagging. You have to really take your time putting on the jacket to avoid tearing or snagging the lace. The lace is loose inside the jacket. Very poor choice for lining. Satin or silk would have been much better. I gave 5 stars because it is a beautiful jacket, extremely unique. Not your typical biker jacket.
