For sport or pleasure (or both), this lively mountain town has something for you…
Whether you’re planning a weekend skiing expedition, or looking to immerse yourself in a true winter San Juan Mountain wonderland known for its “authentic mountain character, unpretentious attitude, and celebration of four seasons of adventure,” Telluride does not disappoint.
FP Movement Store Brand Leader Lyndsey, who has called Telluride home for 2 1/2 years (after falling in love with the “beautiful box canyon” post-Telluride Bluegrass Festival), shared with us all the must-trys and don’t-misses you’ll want to check out during your long-weekend (or longer) visit. When you’re not playing in the snow, of course…
BEST BRUNCH/COFFEE SPOT IN TELLURIDE
The Butcher & The Baker is an amazing place for breakfast/brunch and coffee. It is located on Colorado Avenue, Telluride's famous Main Street. The historic building's location boasts incredible views of the ski resort and the box canyon from downtown. Their breakfast menu does not disappoint – my personal favorite is the Wild Mushroom Breakfast Sandwich on a homemade English muffin.
BEST RESTAURANT IN TELLURIDE
Timber Room, located in the heart of Mountain Village at the Madeline Hotel, gives you the option to "graze" on their amazing selection of small plates like Devilish Eggs topped with black truffle and caviar, or "feast" on one of their large cuts made for sharing with your friends like the 32oz Dry Aged Buffalo Tomahawk in red wine juniper jus. Their cocktail and wine list are an après ski dream and perfectly executed by the best bartender in Telluride. The ambiance is stunning and the decor was curated by an award-winning design team.
Wood Ear is a great casual dinner spot in the historic Roma building on Colorado Avenue in downtown Telluride. Wood Ear is a fusion of Texas smokehouse and Japanese ramen which makes for a delicious bowl of noodles. They offer a variety of tasty appetizers and ramen dishes, my favorite being The Bird, which is no longer on the menu but available for locals when requested. Their cocktail list is extensive and whiskey-focused. It is the perfect place to warm up after a day of winter activities.
BEST SHOPPING IN TELLURIDE
Our FP Movement store is located on Reflection Plaza, the ice skating rink located in the core of Mountain Village. You can shop our amazing collection and watch the ice skaters go by!
Crossbow Leather is excellent for small gifts like their popular fringe sling leather bag or a custom fit felt hat.
BEST DRINKS IN TELLURIDE
There Bar is the perfect place to escape the crowds and enjoy a more intimate atmosphere. The small plates are perfect for sharing and their Jam Drinks are a must try.
BEST HOTEL IN TELLURIDE
The Madeline Hotel is a favorite place to stay when visiting Telluride. It was just recently awarded 5 stars from Forbes and home to two of the best restaurants in Telluride – Timber Room and Black Iron Kitchen and Bar. The ski in/ski out, with the ski valet being located right on a ski run, is an incredible amenity. They offer a variety of wellness classes, luxurious spa treatments, and a pool with two hot tubs that offer some of the best views in Mountain Village. The non-skier can choose many other adventures like snowmobiling, dog sledding, snowshoeing, horseback riding, ice climbing, ice skating and many more! It is a winter adventurer's paradise!
