Care FP: Wearing a Lighter Footprint, Literally

These slides are all about breaking (or rather scraping) the mold…

I never realized how indebted I was to a slide. Until I owned one.

As someone who always welcomes convenience and saving time, it took only a few seconds of to-and-from’ing in a pair of super easy FP Movement slides to realize that I’d want these cloudlike anywhere-shoes on my feet as often as possible.

(And not just one pair, mind you, but 3 – one for in-home wear only, and a few color options for when I’m out and about.)
These FP Movement slides are super comfortable, equipped with a good-tractioned sole, and perfect with or without a sock. Which makes them a perfect accoutrement for pre- or post-workout, running a few errands, or even taking you on a housecleaning marathon.

But I did learn something fascinating recently. It was during a team meeting that someone mentioned these slides were ALSO waste-free, and recyclable, which gave them Care FP’s stamp of sustainable approval.

Please explain? I asked.

Well, it turns out that their sole (pun intended) ingredient, PVC, is heated and then injected into each slide mold. As the mold is engaged, any excess material is collected from in and around any of the 6 pre-sized molds, and recycled into the next pair of slides. In other words, no PVC ever leaves the production facility, unless it is molded into a shoe.

To boot, this Italian factory is run on 100% renewable solar energy. AND, once you’ve given your Movement slides a good run, remember that they are a #4 plastic recyclable. For many of you, this monofiber material composition means that you can dispose of your much-loved shoes via your recycling bin. (Major cities who accept PVC in their curbside recycling programs are: NYC, Philly, Chicago, San Francisco, Miami, San Diego, London, while LA does not. Be sure to check out what your neighborhood can/cannot accept curbside.)

Reason enough to let these shoes slide right into your daily outfitting.
