Very beautiful dress!

I got this dress for homecoming and it arrived only a few days after I ordered it so shipping was amazing. I love this dress and all my friends were asking me where I got it, so the compliments were coming from everywhere. I was called a goddess multiple times! :) The only thing that didn't get this dress 5 stars was that the wrapping was kind of complicated and it took me a few times to figure it out. If you're bigger busted like me the dress is kind of revealing but still classy. I love it so much!

The slip in this dress is weird its not a full slip its tacked to the dress its self and wraps with the dress. I feel like the slip was tacked in the wrong places. because when you put it on it gaps in the top( like the gold materal wasnt measured properly when constructed) really wanted to love it but not for the weirdness and price. Def would have to be taken and fixed at a seamstress to be corrected.

Beautiful Idea - Terrible Execution

Like other reviewers, I ignored the poor comments on this dress because it was so beautiful. My sister had me buy this as a maid of honor dress and I have now ordered it 3 different times in hopes of getting a dress that was properly constructed. The first dress I ordered in my normal size and I could barely get the wrap to close - runs one size small. Additionally, as I was trying it on the slip inside broke off of the dress due to the extremely thin gold material. I returned this and ordered the next size up in hopes that these design flaws were a fluke. The second dress I received fit perfectly but the slip inside is squared off while the gold wrap part is curved. Therefore, the slip was sticking out and would need to be taken to a tailor to fix. I went back to the store to order one more since my sister really loved this dress to complete her bridesmaids look. I had the hardest time returning this at the store, it took over half an hour because they had messed up the shipping and when the receipt was scanned it said that I had already returned the item. FINALLY, I was able to place the order with one last hope. The dress arrived promptly but had the same issue with the slip sticking out from under the gold fabric. I am on the fence of taking this to a tailor but can't fathom spending any more money on this pricey, poorly constructed gown. Save the heartache ladies!

Beautiful, ethereal and poor construction

The reviews of this dress are mixed. It is gorgeous fabric, but the issues are below: 1 raw hems do not add to the beauty of this dress and in fact detract from it. 2. Fabric appears shredded and I had to look twice to make sure the open weave wasn't a tear. 3. internal slip should have been an actual separate slip. 4. color is champagne, not gold. Free People charged 300 for this dress, and for this price, should have paid more attention to the gorgeous fabric, hemmed the sleeves and bottom and generally made this a dress to die for, not a dress to puzzle over how to give it more class and finish.

Wore this stunner to my wedding cocktail party last week and felt like a goddess in --- because that's what everyone kept telling me! The dress does look shinier in the photo pictured here, but in person there is still a beautiful sheen to it, and it is more champagne in color. The material is lightweight and airy with an ethereal, effortless quality to it. It is definitely delicate, but it without a doubt withstood everyone hugging and rubbing up against me with their embellished outfits and bags. I paired it with sparkly pewter Badgley Mischka heels and a mixed metal necklace. Make sure to just pull the straps of the slip all the way back and it will stay put all night long. I think the other reviewers found the slip awkward as they did not adjust it before putting it on. Hassle-free and functional is how I'd describe it, and I didn't even need to wear a bra. Well done Free People -- this is one of the most special dresses you've made thus far. Give this dress a try -- I guarantee you'll feel like royalty in it!

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL

If I could give zero stars I would. I waited and waited for this dress to become available, and was so excited when it finally arrived. I ignored the other reviews because I just fell in love with the photo. In reality the dress is just awful. There are literally no redeeming qualities to this dress. The execution is bafflingly complicated, with the half slip being cut down the middle to fully adhere to the respective sides of the wrap, and this takes away from the intended casual elegance of a wrap-kimono style gown. However, I would have taken this to my tailor to fix had the fabric been even somewhat worth it--it was not. The fabric is cheap, completely see through, and lacks any of the glamorous sheen displayed in the photos. It is not a dressy fabric, and was completely inappropriate for the black tie gala I had in mind. I can't believe this was such a miss. It should have been amazing, and its so annoying that the design team messed this up so royally. I wouldn't keep this if it were $20, let alone $300.Oh, and it runs pretty small too, at least a whole size off. Boo!

Agree with previous review! Material is so thin! And something is awkward with the lining...it doesn't lay flat and is totally visible in the chest area. Can't quite describe, but it looks awful! The dress also runs VERY small. Extremely disappointed. Will be sending it back. :(

I love free people it's my fav brand but I've never been more disappointed!!! This dress looks so cheap it shouldn't cost more than $50...I was hoping for a vintage look and honestly all I got was a piece of curtain. For that amount of $$$ you can find something way better so save your money girls.
