I took some time deciding on whether or not to purchase this and I'm so glad I finally did. I got it in black M/L and it is just as I expected. It's very big, very cosy, soft, warm and looks great with jeans out and about or at home with leggings. I don't wear it as a dress, but more as a massively oversized sweater. I have since purchased the same size in the blue and can't wait for it to arrive. The quality is better than I thought it was going to be ... I often find these huge loose knit sweaters to be of bad construction, but this one is not.
This is a Free People classic. I'm 5'3" 130 lbs. and rock this sweater! I wear it with white cropped skinny pants and my Berks and it's a hit! This is the newest addition to my Free People collection of sweaters. It does run large but that's o.k.. I've been told that most people can't get get away with this fit but am happy to say I can. Wear it well!
I could live in this!
It's obviously large and shapeless by the photo, but it is an amazing piece! I have the black. Believe it or not, you do have to wear something under it because it's a little see through with the large knit. I wear it with leggings and switch the color cami or long sleeved T under it. I wear snakeskin over the knee boots and people love the look of this and I love the feel. I go home, take off the boots and leggings and run around the house it in. I'd but this all over without a doubt!
More a Blanket Than Dress
Really, a blanket with a cowl...had to return. I, too, really wanted this to work. But the stylists for the photo shoot must have some some serious bunching and pinning to belt this sweater to make it appear as a dress in the website photo. It IS long. It is fabulously soft and cozy. I am 6' tall, ordered a M/L, so that's not the issue. The issue is that the low cut Dolman sleeve does not allow me to belt it and have it look like a dress as in the photo. My favorite Free People sweater is a tunic-length alpaca blend, so I will order another style and report back...
Love this cozy piece
I have this sweater in black and I've already worn it countless times even though it's still October. It's not fitted but loose, and the weave is not tight, but it's gorgeous over one of the layering T's. I bought it for warmth so the fit isn't as important to me but I still like how it looks, how it feels, and how warm it is.
I really love this sweater, I think. Like the other reviewer I would have rather had it in blue but that color is long gone. I can't decide if this is going to look like a big black sweater bag on me or be a great statement sweater. I can't imagine what coat I will wear over it. I'm probably keeping it but...
Warm, comfy, but too shapeless
Awwww, I really wanted this to work. I actually wanted the blue, but it was (and still is) sold out, so I got the XS/S in black. I just mostly didn't like the fit--I'm not sure how to describe it, but it's not like a sweater or shirt with separate long armholes. You just slip it on, and it lays on you like that. The arm opening lays like halfway by your elbow, so you can't push it up ...it's just one large piece. On the plus side, it's super cute and flattering and cozy. I'm 5'7", and it hit me around my knee, so it's definitely dress-length for the taller ladies. I got my usual XS (34 b-c, 25-26, 34), and it fit TTS for FP--not too oversized, but loose enough to be flattering and cute.
