Semi-sheer printed mini slip dress with a shapeless, swingy silhouette and ruffle hem. Cutout detail on back.
Everywhere I go, people ask me about this dress!
I love it. So girly, so fresh and springy, so easy to style. It's the perfect throw-on-and-go dress. It's slightly sheer in the pale pink colour, but not so much that I feel the need to pair it with a full slip; just some nude undies will do. The neck is not so high that it feels restricting or dowdy, like some of the other dresses with similar silhouettes. People compliment me on this piece all the time! Highly recommended!
I was a little reluctant when ordering this piece because I really wasn't 'in love' with it online. However, when I received it (I ordered the Terracotta Combo) I was extremely pleased! I ordered a small but I should have ordered XS. It is quite roomy, however, the flow is beautiful! The front is a little short to wear to work, therefore, I wear leggings with it and throw on a jean jacket. Adorable! Most of my Spring wardrobe has been purchased thru FP (as well as shoes) and I absolutely love every item received, so far. Another shipment is coming today. I highly recommend this piece to anyone; only advise is to order a size smaller.
Another reviewer said that the Tea color has a bit of a pink undertone and I agree. Perhaps just a hint of peach (see my close up photo). The accent colors are harvest gold and grey. The fabric is wonderfully light and flowy - Reminds me of the Parisian Slip. I think it runs similar to the Parisian slip - a bit large. I'm normally a 10/12 and get a L in almost everything Free People but I think I should've sized down to a Medium in this one, like I used to with the Parisian Slips. I ordered online so I'll keep it but when I get the next one (and I definitely want this in other colors), I'll go with a M. This slip seems to have more fabric than the Parisian slip but it's very light and it lays well. Can easily tuck one side into a pair of jeans without bulk. The length - I'm 5'3" and curvy and the L hits about mid thigh in front (see my photos). I like that the neckline is high because the pattern shows nicely if I wear a slouchy top or sweater over it. I imagine that I'm going to get lots of wear out of this one!
I admit I would pass this dress up just seeing it online, but I find you really have to see and try on a lot of FP stuff in-store to see its full potential. I grabbed this dress in charcoal at my local FP just to try on with a bunch of other layering tees....and of course ended up really liking it! I'm 5'3" 115lbs...petite but curvy. I got an XS and like the length. The front hits about mid thigh, and the back hits just past the backs of my knees. I tried a Small as well and it did feel a bit long in comparison to the XS, but not extremely so, and the arm holes were a little big so I went with the XS. The dark color doesn't seem to be overly sheer that I can tell, but lighter colors may be different.
Pretty Tunic Dress
I have this dress in three colors and love it! It did shrink a little when I washed it because of the fabric, but not too badly. This is such a perfect little tank dress and works with anything you could think of! This is a great buy and fits a little big, but mostly true to size.
Not sure if worth $98!!
I really like the pattern of this dress, however the fabric is very thin, and alittle sheer. It may be best to layer it, at least in the Tea combo color. Another disappointment is the tea combo color is a bit of a faded pink, which almost ruined it for me. I was looking for more white/ivory like the picture. I got size Small and for reference I am 35 bust, 30 waist, 38 hips, and 5'3 height. It does seem to be about 37 bust, for size small. Just as another reviewer said, it may not be pulled off for the shorter girls, under 5'5. This may be true as the arm holes sit just a bit too low, which may be fixed with me sizing down? The length is alittle long for my height, but I'm not usually a fan of short dresses. Not sure if it is still worth keeping with the price! Considering sending this back! So sad though! I love the pattern, which is lovely, but the fabric and pinkish color tint have me considering otherwise. Everyone else seems to love this, wonder if everyone else thinks its worth 98$?? Hope this helps!
I had been eyeing this dress online for a while, but I didn't fall in love with it until I saw it in person. I bought the tea combo because it just went SO perfect with my skin/hair color (fair/blonde). Only problem is that it is a tad bit sheer in the back for my liking, so I'm still trying to figure out what to put under it without over-layering (if you have ANY suggestions, please help!). Other than that, this might just be my favorite dress purchase ever! LOVEEEEE! side note: I'm 5'7 and normally wear a small, and this dress was perfect in length and fit!
I love this dress and bought it for a vacation we are going on. That being said, it is VERY see through. What are people putting under this? Could probably pull it off on vacation but not at home. This ran true to size for me. I ordered the turquoise.
