I kept this but it's huge!
I wanted to like this shirt, it has so many possibilites, but I bought a large, and it's just too big. The material is soft and a little heavy, not a thin material. I washed it thinking it would shrink, but it didn't. I guess I will wear this around the house only. It isn't bad, it just is to big. Slides off my shoulder, and the weight makes the material look funny, not sexy.
Effortless style for a casual day
I purchased the olive combo in large. I'm 5'10" , 150 lbs and 34G. The contrast between the olive and white tie-dyed is bold and very appealing, the material is kind of honey combed , comfortable against the skin easy to machine wash/ care for. With my curves ,it's nice to have the oversized look, very forgiving. On me it pretty much looks and lies as shown on the model, even though I'm sure our figures couldn't be more different. Personally I plan to wear it either with leggings or even better, with over the knee boots. I have a ton of pieces from free people that hug every curve but there's days you just want to relax but still look good. This sweater dress is substantial but comfortable and VERY cute on. I understand that girls with shorter stature may be overwhelmed by the oversize, but I personally love the look, the olive color is exactly as shown ( not always the case with FP site ), muted, really pretty, I'm surprised it didn't sellout fast, but I guess it's a personal thing. The vents is only about 3", but the high low hem is another nice look, at 5'10" the front hem comes to about 6" above the knee, crying out for knee high boots ! (like the Joe boots ).This is a more casual piece but has a lot of character... I love it and hope FP does some more like this ( you can't wear sheer fabrics , often too revealing in design very day ). I love and recommend this sweater, especially to us girls with curves.
i start off by saying I looove free people. very rarely am I disappointed. but I suffer with the sizing, its not consistent so you are in a toss up every time. :( this shirt is huge, not oversized , I ordered an xs and its huge!! going back...
I just received this top and I got it in the green. It is a lovely olive colour as is as pictured. One small quibble is the neck is a bit wide but it fits very well. I can see why the petite so who ordered this would be overwhelmed in this. It's a bigger girl's top and just wonderful. I can see it and I having a long relationship. The fabric has a nice weight as well.
Neckline is wide for off the shoulder wear
Unfortunately I don't prefer off the shoulder clothes, especially in a sweatshirt type fabric that I'd wear in cooler weather. Otherwise I like this. I got the olive, and it looks like the pic. It's very soft and soooo comfy. But for me to wear it, I'll have to wear something underneath, like something with a turtleneck, whether it has sleeves or not, just to cover that open area. Which to me reverses the effect of trying to be warm! But I'm keeping it and hoping I can find something to help staunch the chill in that big, open neck. Also, as to it's boxy shape. Well, I have a tummy (I"m 144 pounds, 5'6" and I got the SMALL which means it's oversize since I usually wear a large in most other brands) so hiding that tummy is important to me. It doesn't seem so boxy as just roomy. Maybe the 'boxy' comments are from lovely woman with hourglass figures who enjoy, with reason, having their shape show! Not me. I'm happy with "roomy." I'd just prefer a smaller neck opening. Nuf said.
Want to love it but on the fence
I love the look of this tunic but was disappointed when it arrived. II ordered the black & was expecting it to be a rich black but in fact it's more like a washed out grey color.... nothing like the photo. I went with the XS as I read it was somewhat boxy and it was fine. I want to love it but I'm still on the fence - only because of the color
So cute on the model, but looked like a square cube on me. The model has to have it pulled in somehow. Absolutely no shape whatsoever, made me look twice as wide. Definitely for the tall, slender body type. I am only 5'4" and curvy and this tunic swallowed me alive. Sorry to have to send this one back.
cute idea - huge
I don't know what size the woman in the picture is wearing, but if it's really that long, then it's practically as wide. I got a M, which is normal and it is almost a square (same width as length). Beware...
I bought this in black and tried it on today and found it so comfortable and a perfect fit.....hangs super......I'm 5'7" and 135 lbs .....size small fits so well, I ordered the pink combo:):) soft not stiff????
