Belmont Leather Clog styled by the FP Me community
I have 2 pairs of these now. Was a bit hesitant after reading some of the reviews about the straps breaking (and knowing how rough I am on shoes)! One of the straps snapped after I wore them about 5 times. The suede ankles straps are soft and I pulled too hard obviously. So I got out my needle and thread, fixed it and was more mindful when I tied them in the future. Bought the chocolate first, tan second. Super comfortable and gets tons of compliments always! Nothing is perfect but these are pretty close
broke 2 seconds after wearing them
I was so happy when I got these shoes. My boyfriend surprised me and bought them for me as a gift. I wore them out the next night to a very special gallery opening and the top strap just snapped and broke and I was stuck at this function for 3 hours not being able to walk around with broken shoes. They are so cute and it is a shame the quality is not there.
LOVE but Broken already :(
I got these clogs about a week ago, and I was SO excited to wear them. However, after wearing them twice (both times for no longer than 2-3 hours), the ankle straps snapped - one into 3 pieces. I'm so disappointed, and I would love to try these again, to see if this was just a fluke... But not sure if it's worth it to lose another $120+ just to have them break again :( Would wear without ankle straps, but they're already so loose that I think they're pretty much trash :(
Was hesitant to buy because of previous reviews on broken strap and such but I ended up buying them because they are so freakin adorable! First time I wore them out in the city for 6 hours walking the entire time! My feet did not hurt one bit and I'm not one to wear heels. So comfortable did not even have to break them in! def getting another pair!
Nice but not as depicted
I ordered the Belmont clog in the Taupe. When I opened the box I thought I had the wrong clogs, the leather on the toe is very dark brown, and the suede of the straps is a rust colour. I had to check the receipt to be sure I had not gotten the wrong ones. There is a dramatic contrast between the two colours and it confused me. In the photos it looks like the two browns are quite similar, just a difference in shade, but in reality it is two completely different colour browns between the front and the back of the clog. It gives them a very different look than I expected. I did not want to send them back as it was going to be $35 to return and I had already paid $50 in duties, just too much money to put out to end up with nothing. I am keeping them but not as happy with them as I wanted to be. I order from FP A LOT and never have a problem with items looking different than the picture so this was surprising. For sizing I got a 36 and I am a size 6.5 so for me they did not run big at all. Good quality though, they are well made and nice & light on your feet, not clunky at all.
Love, but minor problems
I drooled over these clogs for months! I finally let myself splurge and bought them in grey. As far as sizing, I am an 8 solid and got the 38 and they fit just fine. The toe part is black, but the strap and ankle tie are grey. The strap has streaks of black in it so it almost looks dirty. I decided to keep them because I was just so excited to get them in the mail and decided it made them look grunge. The strap itself is quite big, doesn't fit my foot so im not sure someone could wear these without the ankle strap. For comfort they are amazing, I wear them to work and I work 6-10 hours per day and my feet only start hurting when I work about 10 hours. They are a little loud to walk in even though they have a rubber lining on the bottom. I have also scrapped the front on the sairs of my apartment and the wood has cracked. Other than that I love them and have worn them probably 45 times in the 4 months I have had them.
DO NOT BUY
I, like you, came across these and was immedialtely sold. and I though to myself "maybe I should read the reviews.." Like many other commenters, I wore these once (after having to add another hole for the clip) and now they are completely unwearable. And when I say unwearable.. I don't mean "i could maybe make these work".. I mean, these things will fly off your feet because no matter how many extra holes (and yes, you will have to add holes) you put in, they will NOT FIT. I even bought a size down thinking the strap would be smaller. nope. For 120 bucks this is the worst shoe I have ever purchased and I highly doubt I will ever buy from FP again. What a waste .... Off to ice my feet now!
I'M IN LOVE
So let me start out by saying that I love Free People, and their shoes are the best! I've bought some heels from them before and I never get tired in them. However, I have been wanting to buy something with a little more height that I could everyday, yet still be comfortable! And let me tell ya, this totally hit the jackpot! I work at the mall as a sales associate and stand all day, I took a 6 hour shift and went Christmas shopping for a few hours and my feet were not even tired! Seriously, the best investment ever! One thing though, they do scuff easily, like any other leather shoe, but its nothing a little great can't help! Hope y'all the best of luck!
Stylish But Poorly Made
Bought these clogs during the summer months and loved the style with bell bottom jeans and dresses. I bought a size 38 and normally wear a size 37; they were a bit small but the strap around the heel is so loose that it slips down. I loved the style of these shoes and got many compliments but after a few months, as I was tying the ankle straps, they completely snapped in half. I'm so disappointed because the heel strap is too loose to wear without the ankle ties. I loved these shoes but they are not worth the price for such poor quality. Probably will think twice about buying free people shoes in the future.
