Cute embroidered jeans
Thanks to the three reviewers I did size up. Size 29 fit me in the waist but was a bit loose in the hips. A hot water wash and dryer will solve the problem. Size 28 would have been a bit snug. They are adorable and am looking forward to wearing them with a multitude of solid tops. So glad I purchased them.
Blue vs Black Sizing
TL;DR: the blue does run TTS, black runs 2 sizes too small. Gorgeous and true to pic on both washes. I give construction and embroidery quality a 9/10. Bought the blue in a 30" and they fit a little loose. This wash has a LOT of stretch, like jeggings level stretch with true denim weight. I am a size 29, sometimes a 28 with high waist styles due to my hip/waist ratio. It was a mistake ordering up, but let me tell you why i did: these jeans are One Teaspoon; that's important to mention because their brand sizing does NOT line up with FP sizing. I first purchased the black wash from another website in a 29, and the denim is 100% cotton, little/no stretch. They run two sizes small, no exaggeration, i can barely wiggle them over my hips and can't get them buttoned. Laying flat the top measures 13.25", so the waist on a size 29 measures 26.5". Turns out the blue were made exclusively for FP and the fabric composition was changed to 70% cotton with poly/viscose/spandex making up the rest.
beautiful but way too small
This jeans are really great and I couldn't wait to get them, but the sizing is really off. I usually wear 27-28 so I ordered 28, way too small. I ordered 30 and the same problem, way too small. Wasn't able to pull them up. so sad but had to return.
Beautiful detailing, just runs small
Free People clothes generally fit me to a T and are true to size. These jeans are beautiful in the detail, but order a size up. I generally fit right into a 30, but these were so skinny I couldn't gain an ounce and get in them. I'm returning and reordering a 31.
Sizing???? Super tight
I'm 5'7'', 125 lbs, normally wear 27's in jeans, very rarely 28's. The last pair of jeans I ordered from FP, they didn't have 27's so I had to order 28's and they were a tiny bit loose, especially after they stretched out a bit. So I ordered these in black, in 27, and they were soooo tight, I couldn't even get them up over my butt! But they were so cute, so I checked to see if they had a 28. They only had a 30 available and only one pair left so I thought "what the heck" and ordered them. I can get them over my butt at least, but can't even button them!! And they're very snug around the hips and knees. What is with your sizing, Free People?! So infuriating. SIZE UP if you want these.
