Border Print Bell Bottoms styled by the FP Me community
Super cute print. The fabric was so incredibly thin. I don't think they are worth the price. In case you think they are (which I did even after reading the other similar reviews), they run small. I am 5'8 and wear a size 26 in FP. The small was a bit too snug.
extreme color fading
I bought these pants in sienna tangier and they arrived already looking much more faded than they did in the pictures. Some of the reviews noted that the colors were less vibrant in real life than in the pictures so I thought this was normal, but my friend ordered the same pair and hers were much more vibrant when they arrived. I would have returned them, but by that time I had already hemmed them. The color fading continued from there, even though I followed the care instructions and now the pattern barely shows. These pants are gorgeous, but only for a few wears.
These pants look super cute online, and the print is super cute in person, but the quality is extremely poor. These pants should cost $20, not $148. The material is extremely thin and flimsy, and they're poorly sewn together. Mine arrived with a large hole in the seam from the poor quality. Also, the waist is an oddly high rise. Not particularly flattering. I'm going to return them and spend my money on something else.
Hi emilylainelevoy, We're sorry to hear about your Border Print Bell Bottoms. Someone from our team will be in touch soon. - Free People
love love love!
Frankly, I love 'em so much I would spend $148 and get another color if I could justify it. I contemplated whether or not I should do a Small or xSmall for a long time~ went with the Small, glad I did.Typically wear a 25 jean. I'm thinking the xs might have been sheer in the booty area. Length was not a issue (5'8) I was prepared to bring them to the tailer but with shoes on they are perfect. If a new color comes out I might just have to buy another!
Kind of cheap
The fabric is cool looking, but the pattern matching at the front and back seams is a little bit off and highly noticeable. I don't mind spending $148, but overall I don't think these are worth it unless you really love them.
These pants are so rad!! They look awesome with a vintage band tee and some ankle boots and surprisingly, they are very versatile. I got these in the rust daisy paisley print and the colors are stunning. They are SUPER long, but I just pull them up my legs a bit so that they don't drag on the ground (You can't tell at all that I've done this). They are also the most comfortable pants I've ever owned. They're very stretchy and not restrictive in the least. The material isn't too thick to wear in warmer weather, but it's definitely thick enough to wear in the fall. These pants just have such a bohemian hippie vibe. They are a must for music festivals and concerts!
Its a love/hate relationship
The style of these is just incredible. Duh. The quality sucks. After you wash them twice they get fuzzies all over and fade fast. I do lots of yoga so I have accumulated holes quickly. Made very long so I always have to hem. I have a couple pairs because I caught them on sale. For the record I am 5'4.5" 26 waist 36 hips and I get size small. Very thin fabric. But too beautiful to pass up. Although I swore the last pair I got is my last pair.
Since fp pants are always so long on me, (I'm med/5 3"), my genius hubs came up with the best way to tailor them. Take the section out of the knee area rather than a classic hem! That way you don't lose all of that beautiful flare or pattern climax. Great fabric! These pants are show stoppers. Compliments galore every time I take them out! With the next revision of the style I would like to see a wider waistband, please free people? I'll buy them. I promise.
super tiny waif pants
Novella Royale makes the most beautiful things, but man do all of their items run super tiny!!! I am imploring the designer, Mary Meyers, to please make some bigger sizes. I would spend thousands and thousands on this label if their pieces would only fit me. For reference, I am 5'5" and a size L/12. I normally take a medium or large in Free People pieces (sometimes a small if the piece is really flowy). I'd say the large in these pants fits closer to a 6 or 8. I keep waiting for someone to come out with a line similar to this one, (60s and 70s inspired with all the pieces made in the U.S. and prices that aren't completely insane), that will fit those of us who are never going to be tiny, no matter how much we work out. You'll notice in photos of people wearing these pants that there is never anyone over a size 6 or so and that, even on the tiniest of people, these pants still look like they're stretched to their limit. I understand tight bellbottoms, but if they're so tight that the fabric is being stretched until it's practically see through, that's probably not the intended look. If you're a size 00 to 6, then you'll love these pants, as long as you size up from your usual size. The rest of us are SOL 1 star for fit, 5 stars for design, 3 stars for fabric (rayon and spandex), resulting in an average rating of 3 stars for me.
