Great Material and Look
I love FP but a lot of their stuff is made very thin and doresn't last long - but not this! This is a nice thick material that is super soft and so unbelievably comfy. I've gotten so many compliments on it. I'm 5'2" and got an extra small. I love how baggy it is. I wore it as a shirt with black pants and booties, then again as a dress with thigh high boots. Both looked awesome. I have a little legs, so there was barely any space between the dress and my boots. I saw some people say it was too short, but I don't have that issue at all. It instantly became one of my favorite pieces!
This dress is the definition of comfy cute. It makes me want to go for a beach walk. It also looks great with tights and boots, which I'm looking forward to for the fall. It's a little low cut for some occasions, but that's easily temporarily fixed with a safety pin. The fabric is also soft and nice, although I have noticed a few threads catching here and there, nothing too bad though so far.
Super Soft Fabric
It does truly like the picture, cover hips until middle thigh. I am 5.6 and 136lb,ordered S is roomy. As a 100% cotton, it is super soft, not flattering but comfortable. Kinda baggy style. Mulberry color is nice but very dark, I wish it is a little bit brighter. Over all I like it.
Cute and comfy
I am 5'5, 121lbs and I got the XS. It is very, very roomy and comfy. Definitely size down. If they had XXS i would have loved it more, but baggy shall have to do. It has a lovely warmth to it, but isn't too thick or bulky. Definitely not too short on me, it hits mid thigh and at the back even longer. Great winter addition!
Great once altered
I am 5"9, 138 pounds, and ordered a size small. The material is very soft and the color is great. The only problem is that the shirt/dress is roomy in a non flattering way. I took it to a tailor and had about 5-6 inches removed from the flappy back and now it looks much better.
New fall favorite!
I absolutely love this shirt. It is definitely more of a tunic than a dress and I am only 5'3". (I ordered a size S). I would certainly not wear it with nothing underneath because the sides go up almost to my hip joint. But it is very comfortable and has great thick fabric. I absolutely love the color. After wearing it once I went back online to see if the other color I liked was still available in my size but it was sold out. Would recommend this item and would like to buy it in many colors!
Better dress for shorter people
I read other reviews that the dress isn't for taller people. I'm 5"2' and this definitely a dress for me. It reaches about mid to lower thighs for me. I got an XS in FP Navy and the color and design is true to the pictures. I'm a bit hesitant about the fabric though. It doesn't seem like $150 fabric. (I had different FP dress the same price and material and the sleeve just ripped right off the hem). It's a cute throw on with tights and boots during the fall/winter.
NOT A DRESS... but I love it
Good joke, Free People. At 5'8 this "dress" barely covers the goods when I lift my arms. That said, I'm obsessed. It's the softest shirt/tunic/thing in the world and perfection with leggings and over-the-knee boots. I got a Small which is my usual size and it fit very well. A little roomy as it should be. The mulberry color is gorgeous, but I will say that the contrasting plaid is much more muted in person. It basically just looks like a wine colored shirt from afar, which is totally fine with me.
Iffy on me
I knew being petite at only 5'3", 105 lbs, that it was risky to try this "over-sized" dress but I loved the look of it. And that it's machine washable. As you can see in my 1st photo, the size XS that I got, overwhelms me. I don't have broad shoulders so it really looks oversized on me. The split neck comes down too low too. I tried using a dress clip, which I think improves the fit in the front greatly (in the second photo) but it pulls the leg slits up a little high. So I'm uncertain about keeping this. The color is also only so-so on my basic beige skin tone. The fabric is heavenly - it's dense and super-soft. It clearly looks great on many people in FP's user photos so it's definitely worth trying. I'm just not sure it's for me.
