Doesn't wash well
I usually LOVE free people and this is the first time I've been disappointed by a product. I bought this sweater in oatmeal originally and fell in love with it so I went back and ordered it in the wine color as well. After hand washing both of them and hanging them to dry they have still managed to shrink and become oddly shaped. I am so sad because now I've wasted almost $140 on these sweaters that I wouldn't be caught dead in now. When they arrived they were long and oversized (which is what I wanted) but both are now uncomfortably tight and the hem has rolled up and they are wrinkled. Definitely cute when it comes out of the package but I would definitely not recommend purchasing if you plan on wearing the sweater more than once..
Great for casual
This piece is not as thick or dressy as it appears in the picture. It definitely needs ironed! It's cute and comfy. It is long enough to wear with leggings and not show off the butt if you like it covered!
The cowl neck you need!
I got this as a gift on sale in lavender color. The lavender is a light and muted color which is beautiful. There is the prefect amount of fabric around the neck giving it enough substance to make it a solid cowl neck. I am 5'10" with a long torso and the large was perfect on me. It's roomy but I am not drowning in it. Length of arms are shown on model and length is same as well, a good long length which I prefer. It is one of my favorite shirts and I want the tuscan red so bad. WORTH THE MONEY!
Didn't wash well
I Looooooooved this top, but it did not wash well. I wash everything in cold water and dry on delicate...this shrunk so much that the seams are all crooked and it doesn't hang right. Not to mention that it's about 2 inches shorter than it was before I first washed it. And I'm sorry, but I'm not dry cleaning a glorified sweatshirt.
Fall throw on
This pull-over is the best! It's so comfortable and soft! I got an S in charcoal and it looks exactly as shown. The top is soft and loose so its a perfect throw on for my lazy days!
I got very lucky on this top. I got it when it first came out and got a sale on it and got the lavender color! I have not seen the sale or that color again! It is a very pretty shade of muted soft lavender. It is hard to find mauves and shades of muted colors which I favor. I wish FP had more. I got the XS/S and it fits perfect. I am 5'6" and am 115 lb. I am not a fan of turtle necks and can just barely stand cowl necks - I just have a hard time feeling anything tight around my neck. I wear scarves instead. This top has a great cowl - not too tight and there is lots of fabric to bunch up the way you like it. It can even be pulled up for a hoodie with plenty of fabric and looks cute that way. I love the weight of the material and while I would not call it soft, it is soft enough to be comfortable. There are a lot of ways to dress this up and it can be mixed with skirts with a belt and jewelry, to shorts, to leggings, jeans etc etc. Or just to watch a movie on a chilly night with your honey or just you and a glass of wine. It is very versatile for sure. A good buy. This top clearly gets lots of steller reviews! I am looking at the charcoal... but I have so many FP tops like this in charcoal... I am a huge fan of FP over all. I have had some issues in the past with sizing, quality control ...but I love the designs and this one is, in my humble opinion, a good buy and will get lots of wear. I think they should offer more colors and unique shades and it would be a hit seller. Is anyone listening...... Like the Sunset Park top - even with issues people have written in about regarding problems washing the Sunset Park thermal we still love it. I have 3 of them and just vow to be extra extra careful with them. Part of the reason the Sunset Park thermal is so popular is because of the extensive colors they offer. Last I looked they had almost 200 reviews of that top. There are about 60 review on this top already and the cold season has not even started. Maybe FP will consider the huge review response they hav receive in this top and bring in more colors. I love reading the reviews and won't buy anything without reading them first. I make my decisions to buy or not depending on what you, my fellow FP fans, think. That and how the company responds to issues. But that is a whole new blog area.
I really like this top because it is so comfortable and made of just cotton (no polyester - yay!!). The fabric is rather thick and warming and I particularly love the long sleeves which come down to the backs of my hands, making it a perfect layering piece for the cold season. However the fit is not a 100% perfect for me because it makes me look very thin, and I also frequently pluck at the collar to prevent it from hanging down somewhat uninspired. Overall though I am happy with this piece. I just love comfy, oversized things that feel nice on the skin.
I loved the shirt...it was comfy, fit great! perfect to wear with leggings for fall... However, after my 3rd wear the stitching around the sleeve came out so now I can no longer wear it, as the armpit is not attached. I had hand washed so I am not sure why the stitching was so weak. I was hoping for better quality considering the price point.
I picked this up towards the end of June, and have barely taken it off all summer while indoors, or outside at night. It's got just the right amount of warmth without being too thick or suffocating, and the fabric is nubbly but soft on the inside. My only wish is that it had a kangaroo pocket in the front to put my hands in. This may be one of my all-time Free People favorites.
