Kwame Baah Brand's founder, George Kwame Baah, grew up in Ghana under impoverished conditions before moving to the USA for an education and an engineering career. Recollecting his childhood experience of making shoes from recycled tires, he was inspired to begin a shoe company. In 2011, Kwame Baah Brand was founded with the mission to provide sustainable and economically just employment for skilled artisans in Ghana. They blend contemporary design with traditional fabrics from Ghana producing quality handcrafted footwear.
