Floral embroidered maxi dress with "V"-neckline in front and empire waist. Front of waistline is stretchy. 3/4-length bubble sleeves. Sleeve hems are stretchy.
This dress is fabulous. It's very comfortable. It hides a multitude of sins while making me look shapely and beautiful with no need whatsoever for shapewear -- always a beautiful thing. I'm a size 14 and the Large is perfect. Got the Fig, a nondescript color that looks great with a tan, although it may wash me out entirely in winter. I hope I can buy another (in a better color) for winter with boots; it's that good.
After stalking this dress online for months and trying to justify spending so much money on one garment, I finally broke down and purchased this dress in flame red for my engagement pictures. It's perfect - relaxed, casual, and comfortable. Pure boho loveliness. I'd never shopped at FP before, so I was a bit worried about sizing, but after reading other customers' reviews and talking to a salesperson at the DC store, I sized down and ordered a small (I'm usually a medium) which fits me perfectly. I will say that the color I ordered isn't exactly red - it's more of a dark warm peach, but it's gorgeous against my skin. If you're torn on whether or not to purchase, go for it. It seems to look gorgeous on most body types. Perfect dress + perfect shopping experience = Free People Customer Forever.
New Favorite FP Dress
This dress is one of the reasons why I love Free People in the first place. I ordered the Embroidered Fable Dress in black and is by far one of my favorite pieces in my closet! I was looking for a dress like this and was so glad I made the decision to get it. At first I couldn't decide to get a medium or a small, but based on other reviews about this dress, I sized down to a small. Depending on how loose the dress is and how it's made, I can get away wearing a small. Otherwise, I will stick with the medium to be safe. Right now, my body is more on the curvy side as I have gained weight, mostly in my chest and backside. Some FP dresses (such as the First Kiss Dress) run small, especially in the arms and chest for me, and I have to size up one size. Both this dress and the Embroidered Austin dress (also another favorite FP dress and happily own two of them) have a more loose, comfortable fit, so I can wear a small without any issues. I absolutely LOVE how this dress fits me and by wearing the small, I still have plenty of wiggle room :-) Also, I am 5'4" and the length is perfect on me, especially when I pair the dress with boots. I feel like a bohemian princess every time I wear it, especially when I complete the look with a black wide-brimmed hat! :-) In fact, I love this dress so much that I might get a second one, either in the lavender or the washed red combo. I have a pair of Freebird booties that will match the red dress perfectly. This dress is a MUST HAVE and it is worth every penny. You will not regret buying this dress! Thank you FP and I hope to see this dress come out in more colors.
I find this style runs a bit on the small size for FREE People.......anyway with that said I ordered the RED one, it does not really fall into the red family at all.........it is more like a dark peach russet color. I was not expecting a true red by the picture or color name but still thought it would be in the red family, will return, otherwise a nice dress!
Have it in 3 colors
This is a really great dress. I'm 5'6" so it's a little longer on me than on the model. It's comfortable and flattering. I love the sleeve length. There isn't anything to complain about for this dress at all! It isn't cut too low, the fabric isn't too sheer. It's worth an addition to the wardrobe.
Looks great and super comfortable!
I bought this dress in black and the first time I wore it everyone gave me compliments. It creates a great long, lean , slimming line. I'm 5'10" and wear a 12-14 but sized down to a medium based on other reviews and it fit great. I wish they had the raspberry in my size. I'd love to have another of these in a dark color. I wore leggings and boots under mine.
Love it but it smells :(
I have this dress in dove gray and was so excited to get another color that was a bit more wintery. I got the dress in Raspberry Tea but it smelled horrible. Like burnt rubber. Anyone else have this problem? I would love a solution as I want to keep the dress! Dress number 2 ( I sent the first one back) smells just as bad. Help!
