Calypso....we have a problem
I thought I would love this dress, it's so cute on the model. And maybe that's the problem. I have curves and clearly the model does not. This dress runs really small and as stated in other reviews, the slip seems to be a whole size smaller than the dress. I usually wear a 10/medium at free people. My chest is 36C and the medium slip part was really tight. The dress itself is really cute, however...8 of the little tassels were still in the bag when I took the dress out. 3 more fell off when I tried it on! This dress is cute in theory, but not so much in execution. Sorry FP.
The dress is really nice. However, I bought this in size large (5'4- 140 LBS), I thought it will be a nice dress for summer. However, it turns out as a size for small. The dress fits to my body but only as a tunic, not a dress. The dress and slip are really really small! Not even they look like what the model is wearing in the picture here! Be careful, this dress might work as a tunic and you have to wear shorts or something under it because it cannot fit as a dress.
Really a nice piece, hard to choose size
I ordered this in an XS and a S and I can't choose what is the correct size to save my life! This is a two piece dress as the under part is not sewn in but a separate slip. I really like that as you can take the slip out and use the dress as a longer tunic type top. The dress is extremely cute with nice details and I love the tassels at the bottom hem. The slip is nice as well, it has some boarder work at the bottom. It is smaller than the dress inch wise and this can be an issue if you have a bust. This is were I'm having an issue. I think the XS works better for me but I find the slip to be tight around the bust. The small is more loose and casual but the dropped arm holes makes the top of the dress look a bit odd on me. It falls down a bit far exposing some side boob which is not the look I'm going for. I am going to see what I have undergarment wise to see if this helps me make a better choice, currently I'm using the bra they sell on FP for 20 dollars (forgot the name but it's 20 bucks and comes in 5 or so colors). The issue is the tank cuts in so severely that you can see it but I can't go bra less as the dress, even with the slip, is a tad see through inside the house so I assume it would be noticeable outdoors. I purchased this in the white combo and take normally an XS and sometimes a small in FP shirts and sweater, mostly xs. Bust is a 34-36 C or D depending on bra style and brand but I mostly choose bras that are sized in XS, S, M, etc and don't have underwire so it's hard for me to say exactly what size I am but I do have side boob and that is hard in this dress. I'm going to figure this out as this dress is perfect for summer in California and it's just to cute and perfect to not figure it out. I recommend the dress highly but watch out if you have a chest or wide shoulders as the top portion makes this a bit tricky.
