Love these, but definitely size down!
Followed the advice of other reviewers, went two sizes down from my usual FP size (using the Denim Super Flare a a guide), and they're perfecto :) even though I have a curvy derriere, they still hug me perfectly. I love them! The blanket rainbow is so soft and bright. The only thing I wondered about is if the legs are shorter than most FP jeans? I usually find that anything FP in a regular length will trail on the ground for me, and these do trail, but not as much. I like my hems on the floor though (ie longer than how the model is wearing them), so where I would have worn a high platform, I will wear a lower heel - no biggie because I have shorter legs! If you have longer legs though, you might have to wear flats if you want them on the ground. But other than that, they're gorgeous!
These pants have easily become my favorite pants ever. The cut is a classic 70's fit and the fabric is soft and very comfortable. My usual size is a 26 and after reading the reviews I made sure to size down and got a 25, which fits but is a bit loose. For reference I am 5'8 and 130 pounds with an athletic build. I'm super in love with these pants but wish the raise was as shown in the images. on the model the pants reach her true waist just below her belly button. However on me they hardly rest on the top of my hips. Overall I am super happy with these pants they are amazing!!!!
2 sizes down = good
once you get the right size, these jeans are pretty rad. the previous reviewers were dead on about ordering 2 sizes down, which is still comfy and not super tight on me. the waist is right under my belly button, and the length is long on me (5'3") as usual but not as long as the vintage extreme flares. the denim material is not super thin, and the blanket material is quite soft. it's got a flattering silhouette.
The most rad jeans, but order down 2 sizes.
These are awesome. I did order my normal size 30 and yes, they were 2 sizes too large for me. I sent them back, ordered a 29 and 28, and kept the 28. I have quite the booty, and still kept the 28. These puppies were well worth the back and forth ordering. Can't wait to rock these babies for many moons to come. Keep it up, Free People!
Sacred Valley Blanket Jean Review
These jeans are very unique & super comfy. I am a 31/12 in most FP jeans & love the way they fit. They do engulf my belly, hips, & butt just fine with a little room to spare. I'm having them altered so the length & waist will be perfect. These bad boys are certainly worth it. No plummers crack here. These are keepers. Hope this helps !
LOVE But Run Big!
I fell in love with these in the catalog and ordered my size a 26. So when they came and I put them on they were TREMENDOUS! I went to order a size down and they were backorderd! So, I did order the 25 and just got them. They fit..I could prob go another size down but feel like they may be too tight in the front causing them to look weird. So, I'm happy with my 25 and LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!
Love Love Love
i wanted to hate these because it was hard to justify the cost but they are worth every penny. I usually wear a 25 in FP bottoms and I ordered the 24 and they fit fine. They are also not too long. I'm 5'4" and with heels they are perfect. These are my new favorite pants for sure.
Totally Retro Boho Eye Catching Jean
I love these jeans. I ordered them in a size 28 or what the chart would consider a size 6. I could have ordered a size 4 or 27. However, I would rather have jeans that run a little large than too small. I don't mind having them adjusted. They are 'so in the 70s retro boho' spirit, and unlike anything I have seen anyone wear, they are well worth the price and the ownership. If you have a little more size to your waist in the size you typically order, these jeans will probably work for you. Good pick up FP!
Better than expected
I actually think these are so much better in person than in the pictures here! The fabric for the side panels is soft and the colors are vibrant. They fit a little lower on the waist than I thought they would, but that is a positive in my opinion. The length was perfect. The only caveat is, as the other reviews have stated, you definitely need to size down by 1-2 from your usual FP jean size. Once you have the correct size, they are quite flattering. I will absolutely be packing them for my upcoming vacation!
