A twist on an FP classic, this extra swingy slip features a sweet print with lace inserts and an uneven hem. A sheer style wear on its own or pair with one of our Signature Seamless styles to complete the look.
I got this slip because I love the voile lace trapeze slip and I figured it'd be a close match. It's really similar, but I'd definitely say it runs a little bigger. I'm 5'3 and I get the small in the voile lace slip and it fits perfectly, but the extra small in this slip is a little loose, sometimes falling off my shoulders. I still love it and it's really pretty, but it's a little big!
I like this top but don't love it. I love the feminine lace detail at the bottom. The only thing I dislike it's very oversized. Even the xs is falls off my shoulders all the time. I am 5'5" 34c average build. 130lbs. It's cute but semi annoying but still like it!
Cute, nice lace detail, runs large
This dress is really cute, I love the way it hangs, and the see through lace detail is appealing. I am 5'3", 130lbs, 34DD, 29 waist, 39 hips. I normally wear a FP Small, occasionally XS, Medium for items that can't handle the larger busts. I got this in Small and it is pretty huge. I am sure XS would have fit. However, that is the style so not too surprising. It's not like it looks form fitting on the models lol, so I am not sure why everyone is so flabbergasted by the size. Since I am more curvy and have larger breasts, I normally don't like the tunics on their own since they look a little mumu-ish on me. So I usually belt them. I prefer this one belted as well but it actually works either way. See pics.
First happy, then sad
I was so happy to find this model. I usually dont shop from USA (i live in Sweden) but i wanted this so much! Love how it flows and that i can use it for work and party... But after using it two times i had to wash it. Using handwash program (30Celcius). When it was dry i see that it is torn... I dont know how to describe it so look at the picture. I have orderd 4 dresses (one is for my sister) in total...2has not arrived yet, but now i wish that i culd send them back... But it feels like i take A risk by sending them back so far...all over the world, i am afraid i wont get my money back or they get lost... If you live in USA i recomend you to bye this, because it is beautiful..but dont bye if you live on the other side of the world...if it breaks!
first impression, will revisit...
I had seen this slip online and it interested me since I do have a few of the voile slips, but was shopping for something else at the time and passed it up. I was in my local FP recently and saw them again and decided to try a few. As stated by reviewers it runs very large. I had it narrowed down to small or Xsmall depending on the color since there seemed to be a tiny bit of fit discrepancy between all the ones I tried on....but the same goes for the voile slip IMO. They all seem to fit just a bit different depending on what size and color. I am 5'2" 115 lbs. The biggest issue for me was that the XS was a better fit in the straps, but was shorter than I'd like. The S was more the length I was looking for, but was showing a ton around the neck and arms and was constantly on the verge of falling off my shoulders. I did try one Medium on, and it was the perfect length, but just a ridiculous amount of fabric and the straps were impossible to keep in place. I also wasn't that impressed with the fabric...it's not bad but felt like it almost had a plasticy sheen to it?? I can't say for sure....it's probably just me. And the lace felt a little stiff/scratchy. This was just my first impression, and I may try again at a later date...maybe if they are still around toward spring. It took me a long time to really like the voile slips too, so who knows. I will be keeping my eye on you, She Swings Slip!
This dress is beautiful and flows so beautifully when on. While I love the dress, there are a few things about it that aren't what I thought. Not sure if this applies for everyone else, but the material was a lot stiffer than I had thought. I purchased the ivory combo but received something that was a very pale pink. While I still love the color, I wish it was still more white. The dress definitely runs big and I would recommend sizing down. I tried on an XS but decided to go with a S for more length. Certain parts of the dress are shorter than other parts.
Great layering piece
I bought one of these slips to wear under the Secret Origins Pieced Lace Tunic and loved its versatility so much that I decided to order two more online. Of the three colors I own, only one, the black combo, is as shown. The vintage red combo is actually maroon (nicer than pictured) and the ivory combo is pale pink (not what I was hoping for). The slip runs very large but you can get away with wearing if it’s too big if you have something on over the slip so it doesn’t fall off your shoulders. I love the uneven hem and the lace detail at the bottom, which works beautifully with a number of the shorter Free People dresses that I own. The slip is not see-through so you can get away with wearing as a dress with nothing over it if you want; but for me I don’t like the wide, low neckline, or the very low arms holes.
Fit a bit strange
I bought this slip primarily to wear under things, so the fit of this is less of an issue than it would be if I had bought it primarily to wear as a dress by itself. However, it would have been nice to have that option, like with the Voile Trapeze Slip. This slip is fairly short - I had to size up to a small for length to wear it as a dress, and I'm only 5'3". However, the XS fit so much better on top; the S is really large and it slips down over my chest so that my bra is highly visible. If you want to wear this alone as a dress, my best advice would be to size up for length and then wear a camisole or bandeau underneath. Fit issues aside, it's a beautiful slip, particularly the bluebell color, and the lace detail is pretty and doesn't feel cheap.
LOVE this piece! I now have it in the burgundy, black and ivory (which has a pale pinkish tint to it) and I wear them all the time. I'm even considering getting the olive. It definitely does run large as other have mentioned and as a swing shape should. I'm usually a small or xsmall in FP dresses and tops and will sometimes opt for smalls just for length. I prefer how the xsmall fits for this piece, though the length works better as a tunic than a dress. This is one of my all time favorite layering pieces. It works better for me than the Voile & Lace Trapeze slip because of its low back and dainty straps. Really can't say enough good things about this one!
I absolutely adore this slip! I started off with Free People with getting the Volie and Lace Trapeze Slip and decided to get another style that was similar to it! It does fit a little loosely on the bust, but overall I would recommend this product. Absolutely adorable and considering different colors as well!
