Very warm but not flattering
I really wanted to like this. It was warm and hugely oversized and comfortable. However, it was unflattering that I would not dare be caught in public in this. If you wanted something to lounge around the house in and had zero concern about how it looks this would be awesome for cold winter days/nights. But, the cut is unflattering. It makes you look bigger/wider than you are which is not something that anyone wants.
Attractive and comfy
I really like this dress. I'm 5'9" and of athletic build, though not skinny. In FreePeople clothing I buy a M if it's got a lot of room in the shoulders, and a L or XL if it doesn't. I LOVE this dress for my build (I got the L because I wanted a looser look). It didn't bunch up around my stomach or hips, didn't just hang off my bust (which makes me look blocky - this kept my waistline noticeable without being form fitting. Overall, this is fashionably slouchy but without looking sloppy. Fabulous art-house-semi-dress-up with amber beads, great casual look with a black chunky scarf and flat heeled black boots. Lovely warm, color (great if you're a "winter"); it isn't as dark an orange as depicted, more like a turmeric-ish curry color, which is great on skin with yellowish or greenish undertones. Fabric is comfortable - has give, but not so heavy that it sags. Warm for winter without being too hot. One warning - a little bulky so make sure you've got a coat that has a little extra room if you live someplace supercold and want to wear this. Overall, love it, and would love it in some other colors!
I'm so disappointed about this dress. Was so excited about the ivory or winter white color...well it's not either of those. It's called ivory but it's straight up beige. A sort of sad and muddy beige that washes you out. It fits true to size I would say. I wanted it to be baggier on me and would've ordered a Small, but it's sold out and ordered an XS. I'm 5'2" 125 lbs with a booty and I wish it was a little more relaxed in the hips/butt. AND mine came with two brown stains on it, one on the back and one at the ribbed trim on the bottom. Kind of gross. Will have to return.
I bought this in my usual XS. I am 5'9" and about 125 lbs, however at the moment more like 9 months pregnant and 160 lbs, and it still has a very adorable fit to it--can't wait to wear it when I'm not pregnant. If you are extremely petite, I would suggest passing. It hits just below my knees and has a pretty baggy fit to it. Perfect for the office with a pair of wedges! Love. I ordered it in the off-white color and am considering getting it in the other color too.
Lovely office dress for fall
I love sweater dresses. I ordered the ivory in medium and it fits well (I'm 5' 11"), perhaps I could even get away with a small, but I am keeping the medium. I can't wait until the weather cools down a bit so I can start wearing this to work. It's thick knit, very soft, very comfortable, and overall lovely.
Wanted to love this
This dress is a really heavy knit, but that wouldn't have mattered. The color is whiter and softer in the pic, it is a darker beige with rusty tones, at least the ones I ordered were. Sent them all ( med and large) back, but really adorable if not so bulky on me.
